RB5009'un this version has all the features of the previous model: Gigabit Ethernet, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, and fiber connections via 10 Gigabit SFP+ cage. It offers speed, power, and durability. However, this time, all eight Ethernet ports now have PoE-in & PoE-out. Combined with a 2-pin connector and DC jack, you get 10 different power sources. Dual redundant power supplies typically take your uptime to the next level. RB5009UPr+S+IN takes it a step further!

All power options are supported within a wide voltage range, such as 24 – 57 V. However, you cannot mix voltages. If you use PoE-out to power other devices, the card will select the highest voltage source (DC jack or 2-pin connector) for power delivery.

Each PoE-out port can provide up to 25W of power. The combined total of all connection points is limited to 130W for most setups. You can manually set the maximum available power from your power sources if needed. When it comes to PoE-out features, the new RB5009 can compete with legendary PoE switches: CRS354 & CRS328.

Protect Your Uptime!

What happens if there's an issue with one of your power sources? Here's a quick example: 24V on the DC jack, 48V on the 2-pin connector, and 57V on PoE-in. The card takes power from the PoE-in with the highest voltage. If there's a problem, RB5009 falls back to the second highest voltage - the 2-pin connector. And if that fails – the 24V from the DC jack is the fallback.

What about PoE-out devices? PoE-out devices will draw power from the 48V source on the 2-pin connector. If that fails – the 24V from the DC jack takes over. The card will always provide 20 watts for self-powering. If insufficient power is available for all PoE-out ports, the lowest priority ones will be disabled. You can manually set the connection priority.
